On September 28, 2014, Four Clowns will be conducting a beginner’s clowning workshop at one of the four Arts Council for Long Beach’s (ACLB) upcoming A LOT Initiative events. Four Clowns company members will be facilitating the workshop with undergraduate student cast members from the upcoming production of Ubu the Sh*t that the company is co-producing this fall with the Theatre Arts Department at CSU Long Beach. The workshop will begin at 4:00pm and, like all of the A LOT events, is open to the public and free of charge.

This is not the first time Four Clowns has worked in Long Beach; prior productions include Four Clowns and That Beautiful Laugh at the Long Beach Playhouse. Additionally, many of its company members are alumni of CSULB’s Theatre Arts department. Returning this fall to present Ubu, a collaborative production with CSULB’s undergraduate theatre company, the University Players, the Clowns’ Artistic Director Jeremy Aluma is thrilled to return to his alma mater, now as a seasoned director. “Getting the opportunity to work with [ACLB] is fulfilling. Hopefully we will get the community excited to come to CSULB and see some theatre. We are honored for the chance for new Long Beach audiences to get introduced to Four Clowns and what we do in LA and around the country.”

The Four Clowns Workshop for Beginner Clowns (no previous experience needed) is Sunday, September 28, 2014 at 4:00pm at the corner of East 3rd Street and Long Beach Blvd. All ages welcome.

COST: Free. No reservations necessary
